Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

An early word or two about consistency.

We sell mostly handmade things, and they vary -- as hands do. We can pretty much guarantee then, that the item(s) delivered to your door won't always exactly match photos on our website. And sometimes, because of the unique nature of the Bali beads that we use - which are handmade by artisans in Indonesia, and the eclectic gemstones that we use - oftentimes when the last one is gone, the last one is gone.

So, Its Clementine, Darling, by its nature, deals in small surprises. And we recognize that some surprises are more fun than others.

We want you to know that if you ever get something from us that's not what you expect - or if, maybe, what you expect is all gone, we will go out of our way to make you feel better and to replace your item with something that you love. We want you to be happy - and we mean it.

So, please know that when you buy a piece of our jewelry it is a little treasure. By the nature of what we do, we invite you, by way of our jewelry, to come along with us on an adventure. An adventure of uniqueness and individuality. An adventure that pretty much guarantees that when you buy a piece of our jewelry, there won't be another thousand - or million - women wearing the exact same thing. And we like it that way! So, come along, let's enjoy the adventure, and we promise to always try our best to provide you with something you love.

How is Clementine Darling jewelry made?

All of our amazing jewelry is hand-assembled, with lots of love and attention, right here in the U.S. Part of the reason that we sell our jewelry the way we do - and the reason that we make small "batches" of each piece - is that we're fundamentally opposed to the idea of having products made overseas, in underdeveloped countries where wages are unconscionably low. We would never do that. So every piece of our jewelry is proudly hand-made.

I Have a Mom's Name Bracelet and Have Now Had Another Child -- Can I Add to it?

OF COURSE! We need to see the original bracelet before we can quote a price to modify/add to it. Please send your bracelet to us, along with a note including all your contact information (telephone number is critical here!), and we will call you upon receipt to discuss the changes and the fee for modification. Please be sure and send your jewelry well-protected in a padded envelope. Send it to us at:

Absolutely! Visit the Repair Section of our Website for instructions and mailing address.

Sizing

How important is sizing?

As we mentioned, all of our bracelets are made by hand. As such, sizing is very important, because any changes in size require that the entire bracelet be restrung. If you have a question about sizing, please call us - don't guess. We are 'experts' at determining the correct size that our customers need -- even if we can't see them -- so trust us - and call us (816.444.2229). Measuring Guide (click here for link)

Our bracelets are made in standard sizes: 7 1/2" is our smallest size and typically fits averaged-sized, smaller boned women; 8" is a medium size and fits average-sized, medium boned women; 8 1/2 is a large and fits a larger-sized woman. Unlike some popular retail stores out there, we realize that women come in all shapes and sizes, so if one of our sizes doesn't fit your customers, we can modify it so that it is perfect.

For bracelets, our style is a looser fit. The chunkier the link, the bigger the size is going to be. For example, if you would normally wear a 7 1/2" bracelet, in larger bead, the chunkier style bracelet, you will most likely wear an 8" bracelet.

Jewelry Re-sizing

Once we make a bracelet or necklace, to resize is essentially making a new piece. Therefore, we accept resizing orders with a minimum fee of $20. The price could be more depending on labor and materials -- and the modification needed. Turnaround time is dependent on workload, although we always try to get orders processed and out as quickly as possible.

Care and Cleaning

Your Clementine Darling jewelry is handmade and very special. Please know that that the proper way of cleaning your jewelry - and the recommended method - is by using a soft jewelry cloth. We do not recommend "dipping" in commercial jewelry cleaner. Our jewelry should not be worn while showering, swimming, cleaning house, or in any instance where it can be exposed to harsh chemicals. Our jewelry is not designed or intended to be worn in these environments and doing so can cause damage that is not covered by our warranty.
