Typically, all hand strung bracelets, whether made by us or by someone else, will need to be repaired/restrung about once a year - more if the wearer is kind of tough on things. For instance, when we wear bracelets, we tend to wear the same ones (our favorites) often, and they are forever clunking and bunking into things, getting caught on sweaters, drawer knobs or children's fingers.
So, its important for our customers to understand that repairs are normal and should be expected - not an indicator of poor quality or workmanship. Because of the nature of where bracelets are worn (the wrist - obviously a high-traffic area!) and because many of our clients wear their Clementine Darling jewelry all day, every day, breakage and/or accidents from time to time are not unusual. Bracelets can frequently catch on a desk drawer, a button or even the curious hand of a child - which will cause regular wear and tear on the piece. This is not a result of poor construction or bad materials, it is simply normal wear and tear.
Additionally, it is normal for wire to naturally stretch over time, even if the bracelet doesn't break entirely. When this happens, it is smart for customers to quit wearing the bracelet or other jewelry item and get it repaired. You can either choose to have it repaired by your local jewelry store, or you can send it to use for a repair.
Think of it like this - you buy a great pair of jeans from The Gap. You wear them every day - because you love them so much. After a year of this kind of wear (washing as often as you have to, of course), they get a hole in the knee. If you take them back to The Gap, they probably won't give you a new pair. As a matter of fact, they probably won't even fix them for you. But your tailor will - for a small fee. That's the way people should think about jewelry - especially the kind of jewelry that they love - and wear every day.
Our standard repair fee is $25. This covers restringing the original bracelet, replacing damaged or badly tarnished beads, replacing the wire and other parts that are necessary to "finish" the bracelet and our labor and return shipping & handling costs.
If you have a bracelet that's been badly damaged and/or the majority of the pieces are missing, our repair fee may be slightly more - in this instance, you should send the bracelet in for a price quote, rather than assuming the $25 fee will apply.

Please make sure it is well-protected, in a padded mailer. All mail is sent through giant processing machines as it goes through the mail system, and if not protected, your bracelet is subject to lots of damage en route - which is your responsibility. Simply putting the bracelet in a baggie in an envelope is not protecting it. So be sure and take measures to protect your jewelry - its precious commodity!
Please be sure and include a detailed note containing your contact information, so that if we have any questions upon receipt, we can call you to discuss. Please also include your check made payable to It's Clementine, Darling, in the amount of $25. You can expect to receive your repaired jewelry within about 3 weeks from the time we receive it in house - maybe sooner.
It's Clementine, Darling jewelry is handmade and very special. We recommend cleaning your jewelry by using a soft jewelry cloth. We do not recommend "dipping" in commercial jewelry cleaner. Our jewelry should not be worn while showering, swimming, cleaning house, or in any instance where it can be exposed to harsh chemicals. Our jewelry is not designed or intended to be worn in these environments and doing so can cause damage that is not covered by our warranty.
It's Clementine, Darling jewelry items are covered by a full 60 day warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers breakage and defective parts and is standard in the jewelry industry. If warranty repairs are needed, the item should be returned by the customer to our corporate headquarters:

All warranty repairs or returns MUST be accompanied by buyer's original invoice - or a copy thereof. Return postage and insurance are the buyer's responsibility. Protecting the jewelry en route is also the buyer's responsibility, use a padded envelope or some other protective packing. Simply putting the bracelet in a baggie in an envelope is not protecting it. And, any damage caused as a result of improper packaging is the customer's responsibility.
If a customer is not satisfied with our product, it may be returned within seven (7) days of receiving the piece for a full refund. The return MUST be accompanied by a copy of the original invoice. Shipping & handling charges are not refundable. Return postage and insurance are the buyer's responsibility.
There are no refunds on custom orders! This includes mom's name bracelets, birthstone bracelets and anything else that has been submitted as a custom order. If a customer is unhappy with a piece, we will, of course, do all we can to make modifications and/or make a customer happy. In some instances, if that's not possible, an exchange and/or merchandise credit will be offered.
